Discipleship Classes Descriptions

Faith Christian Center DNA (Vision, Mission, the Code, etc.)

This section of our discipleship classes will discuss the DNA of FCC found in our vision, mission and code of values.  This introduction class to our discipleship program will discuss who we are as a church, what we believe, what we do, and the core values that have shaped our church culture.

Jesus Christ Our Savior

This discipleship class discusses the fall of man and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.  It also explores Jesus as our Redeemer, Atoning Sacrifice and our Salvation. Majority of us have experienced love before, but rarely was it the kind of love that would lead someone to die for us.  Yet, the love that God shows to man in giving his only son is incomprehensible. You will walk away from this class with a greater love, appreciation and reverence for the One who willingly gave His life so that we could have eternal life. You will be motivated and equipped to tell others about this amazing gift that God gave the world.

Holy Spirit

This class covers the role of Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.  We will learn who Holy Spirit is and the power that He provides the believer when we are immersed (baptized) in Him. This class will also explore scriptures that teach us about the Spiritual, Motivational and Ministry Gifts that the Spirit makes available to us.  At the completion of this class, you will understand salvation was just the beginning of this awesome journey with God. Holy Spirit came after the ascension of Christ bearing more gifts to empower and equip the Church.  You will have an opportunity to complete a Gift Test assessment to help you begin to identify your spiritual gifts.

The Word of God

This class is designed to equip believers with knowledge and understanding of the power of God’s Word and to encourage them to walk in the authority that the Word provides.  In this class you will learn why it is so important for us to know and understand God’s Word. You will be given practical ways to engage in reading and studying your bible. You will also be challenged to memorize scriptures, so that you are equipped and ready to quote what God says when you are asked about the hope that is in you.

Prayer

This discipleship class will encourage class participants to develop a consistent prayer life. The class will help you understand that prayer is simply communicating with God. You will learn the different types of prayer and how to engage your faith when you pray. The class will also help you identify some hindrances to prayer that should be avoided in order to have a more effective prayer life.

Jesus’ Strategy for Discipleship

This dynamic class will walk us through the ‘strategic plan’ that Jesus laid out for His followers to ensure that the multiplication of discipleship continued long after He left the earth. This six-part discussion will cover Jesus’ commands for us to count the cost, follow Him, remain with Him, see the harvest, make disciples and multiply.
