    Serve Day 2022

    Faith Christian Center Serve Day provides our church with opportunities to serve our local communities and share the love of God through outreach and generosity. Our hope is that serving others becomes a way of life for those connected to FCC. We know that together we can make difference in the city of Phoenix by representing Jesus and changing the way people see church.

    There are several organizations to choose from. You DO NOT have to be a member of FCC to participate in Serve Day 2022. Invite your friends, family, and co-workers to join you!

    SERVING OPPORTUNITIES ARE FOR AGES 10 AND UP

    Locations

    St Mary’s Food Bank – https://www.firstfoodbank.org/

    • Group Size: 50
    • Time: 12:00pm – 2:00pm
    • Address: 2831 North 31st Avenue, Phoenix, 85009
    • Activity: Pack emergency food boxes for families in need
    • Dress Attire: Close-toed shoes and all shirts must have a short or long sleeve

     

    Project CURE  – https://projectcure.org/

    • Group Size: 20
    • Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
    • Location:  2100 W. 14th Street, Unit T-3, Tempe, AZ 85281
    • Activities: Sorting & cleaning medical supplies and organizing the overall warehouse.

     

    Midwest Food Bank – https://midwestfoodbank.org/locations/gilbert-az

    • Group Size: 75
    • Time: 9 am – 12 noon (Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in)
    • Location: 725 E. Baseline Road, Gilbert AZ 85233
    • Volunteer projects vary depending on the day and current supplies. Most frequent tasks include labeling cans or plastic bags, repackaging bulk food, creating food packs, and reclamation (removing bar codes/de-branding products). Easy projects for all, with no age restrictions
    • Volunteers do not need to bring anything
    • Dress Attire – Warehouse environment, closed-toe shoes recommended

     

    Kids Need to Read – http://www.kidsneedtoread.org/

    • Group Size: 10
    • Time: 9 am – 12 noon
    • Project details: Filling swag bags, Inventory/Sorting Books, Build “Read Together Bags” for Christmas, etc
    • Location: 2450 W. Broadway Road, Ste.110, Mesa AZ 85202
    • Volunteers are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle
    • Dress Attire – Clothes that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes. There may be lifting involved.

     

    Feed My Starving Children – https://www.fmsc.org/

    • Group Size: 10
    • Time: 2PM-3:45PM
    • Location: 1345 S Alma School Road, Mesa, AZ, 85210
    • Volunteer Task: Volunteers will be packing meals for FMSC. There is no specific dress code, but it is recommended to dress casually.

     

    House of Refuge – https://houseofrefuge.org/

    • Group Size: 75
    • Time: 9am – 12pm
    • Location:  6858 E Ursula Ave. Mesa, 85212
    • Activities: Helping to fix up their community garden and doing indoor/outdoor painting projects.

     

    Sunshine Acres Children’s Home – https://sunshineacres.org/

    • Group Size: 50
    • Time: 8:00am – 11:00am
    • Location: 3405 N Higley Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215
    • Volunteer tasks: potential items include putting up Christmas lights, landscaping & gardening, sorting donations, etc.
